I have seen an unacceptable UOA from an S2000 though. I have never seen a good RL 75W-90 UOA compared to other gear oils. No sign of it being effective yet and not many folks want to change box oil as often as engine oil. The OP does not own a race car so the life expectancy of an oil is of more interest and it seems from your comments that Redline is in fact designed for race applications, so it's news to me that they also have a significant R&D effort into long life detergents and dispersant additives for normal engines. I can say that I see Redline in more 1000+ HP engines than any other brand by a large margin. Some argue that its the best lubes money can buy. Their lubes are Ester based GRP V syns, tend to be shear stable and provide excellent flow characteristics and gear protection. Redline is a top notch label with very high quality products. Perhaps you should keep your uninformed opinions to yourself as they don't do anyone any good. And what does a long OCI have to do with a gear oil question anyways? Given that statement and the affordability statement(redline is a premium oil with a price that reflects that) it just shows that you know nothing about Redline. Their oils aren't necessarily for extended OCI's, and they don't claim them to be. Stick to major brand box oils if you can afford them. ![]() ![]() The VOA is more like a race oil than a long life one. Try reading some of their UOA results if you have a long OCI, as their engine oil suffers from a rapid decline in TBN due to the high level of ant wear additives. Pretty much anything from Redline is good as far as i understand.

When an app is linked with a library using a static linker, the code that the app uses is copied to the generated executable file. Most of an app’s functionality is implemented in libraries of executable code. The system loads them into memory as needed and shares the one copy of the resource among all applications whenever possible. ![]() Multiple applications can use all of these resources simultaneously. framework filesĪ framework is a hierarchical directory that encapsulates shared resources, such as a dynamic shared library, nib files, image files, localized strings, header files, and reference documentation in a single package. If you do go with plaster, Durrabond is a nice base coat, it's not easy to sand, you scrape it to get bumps out, the Easy Sand dry mix is the way to go for a finish coat, it's a great dry wall joint compound as well because it drys faster and shrinks less, but once you mix it you are stuck using that or loosing it.īlue Board looks like dry wall, but is grey/blue and denser, it has a course paper on it that is designed for a plaster like skim coat to give that plaster look and feel.Ĭement board should work the same way but I've never used it. ![]() The opinions expressed are his own.I've done plaster and stucco on straw bale houses, I've also done plaster repair and plaster takes skill, the up side is plaster is not perfectly flat! so when you notice a line from a seam in dry wall it's because the rest of it is flat and smooth, plaster is not so a variation blends in quite well! Lath may also be built from extruded metal (metal lath) or stone (rock lath). The wood strips are installed onto the joists, one above the other, with a gap of at least 9mm between them. These adhere much better to the existing plaster wall than premixed vinyl joint compounds. There are several types of new plaster compounds available that have quick set times. This application moisture is why standard drywall cannot be used with plaster.ĭon’t worry about repairing a plaster wall if your kids do crack or nick a wall. Without this special water-resistant coating, the moisture in the plaster would damage the inner gypsum core. These special panels for plaster are often called “blueboards” because they have a special water-resistant paper coating with a bluish color. If you have already put up the drywall, it is too late to select plaster. The gypsum lath panels used for plaster veneer walls are different from standard drywall panels. You will have to decide whether you want plaster or drywall before any wall finishing has begun. A thin 1/16-inch layer of plaster is applied over this, creating the smooth, hard finished surface. Large 4-by-8 gypsum-based lath panels are nailed to the studs for the plaster base. Unlike older wall plastering methods that required wood lath or small gypsum lath pieces common in the 1950s, plaster veneer is basically a one-step process. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. I tried once and it ended up looking like a poorly iced layer cake. I have a lot of building experience, but I would not try it again myself. You can do some of the work, but an experienced skilled plasterer will have to apply the plaster. Keep in mind that plastering, even with the newer veneer systems, is not a typically do-it-yourself project like drywalling. You can use stronger enzyme solutions and scrape more vigorously to remove the old adhesive. Once cured, plaster is resistant to short-term water exposure.Īlso, if you plan to wallpaper, or should I say change wallpaper or paint in the future, it is easy to strip old wallpaper off plaster without damaging the wall surface. It can be washed without the possibility of water damage as with drywall. It nicks less easily than drywall, so it maintains its beauty even with children around. The superior hardness and strength of plaster is a great plus. With drywall, paint often appears different over the joint compound than over the drywall. They also take paint uniformly - a real plus when you use a semi-gloss paint that accentuates imperfections. Plaster walls look better with a flatter, more even surface. The advantages of plaster are many, especially for your long-term dream home. It covers the entire wall with no joints. Plaster, on the other hand, is somewhat similar to cement in that, when it is mixed with water, a chemical reaction causes it to form a strong, hard surface. It is nailed or screwed in place and the joints are finished so that they are supposedly hidden. Santa Barbara Wedding Bliss: Your Complete GuideĪs a brief background, drywall is soft gypsum with paper on each side.
Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) is a clown for hire instead of a cab driver, with a similar street-level view of garbage-strewn Gotham City, sometime in the early '80s. Phillips literalizes that hazy quality in Joker, tying it to dorm-room debates over the endings of Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy, the Scorsese movies he emulates. That book offers a more tragic origin for the character, albeit one specifically described by the Joker as a hazy recollection with shifting details ("Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another"). Phillips has spoken of his desire to smuggle a '70s-style character study into a comic-book movie, which doesn't fully square with how he has (consciously or not) made a Joker movie with considerable resemblance to the 1988 graphic novel The Killing Joke. Yet it still often feels more like a composite of influences than a real original. ![]() Todd Phillips' new Joker is a vastly more focused, disciplined undertaking than something like Suicide Squad, with a committed and often mesmerizing performance from Phoenix. But the character's transformation from surly, murderous gangster to giddy, murderous crime boss doesn't have much pathos, or mystery.Įven an actor as gifted as Joaquin Phoenix struggles with this. It's a self-impression with a lot of entertainment value, and even some thematic resonance for the character, who does view his criminality as performance, after all. Nicholson gets all the best, most indelible lines in Burton's film: "Wait 'til they get a load of me" and "where does he get those wonderful toys?" are a lot more colorful than Keaton's terse "I'm Batman." It's Keaton, though, who does more interesting work in the film, while Nicholson remodels the Joker explicitly in the freewheeling, showboating image of an archetypal Jack performance - a collective caricature of Nicholsonian moments. But after a number of comic overhauls, the character was really reborn on-screen in the visage of Jack Nicholson for Tim Burton's Batman - where the legendary actor, in the tradition of Gene Hackman in the first Superman film, was actually billed above the guy playing the superhero (Michael Keaton). The Joker's white face and green hair had graced screens before 1989 Cesar Romero played the Clown Prince of Crime memorably on the campy Batman TV show in the 1960s, which included a feature-film spinoff in 1966. But when that performer didn’t work out, Blanc came aboard and, McKimson recalled, “did a real good job.” Rather than using Mel Blanc (McKimson recalled he didn’t think Mel could do ), another actor was auditioned (frustratingly, I don’t know who this person was). McKimson decided to base the loudmouth’s voice on a hard-of-hearing West Coast-only radio character from the 1930s, known simply as The Sheriff. But it was obvious from the storyboard that Foster’s funny rooster would “steal” this cartoon. This story, eventually titled Walky Talky Hawky, ostensibly starred Henery Hawk, a tough-kid character originally created by Ted Pierce for Chuck Jones’s 1942 release The Squawkin’ Hawk. In late 1944, story man Warren Foster came up with a rooster story for Bob McKimson, recently promoted to a directing position and getting ready to begin his fourth cartoon.
